If you’re looking to transfer MATIC to your Metamask wallet, you may be looking for the cheapest ways to do so.
Here are some of the methods you can consider to reduce the transaction fees when transferring MATIC.
What are the cheapest ways to send MATIC to Metamask?
The cheapest ways to send MATIC to your Metamask wallet would be either via FTX Pro, FTX App or Bitfinex. This is because both of these platforms do not charge any withdrawal fees for MATIC withdrawals via the Polygon network.
Here are the fees being charged by the different exchange platforms to withdraw MATIC using the Polygon network:
You can view my guide on how to transfer MATIC from Binance or Crypto.com to Metamask.
From this table, there are 3 methods that you can use to send MATIC without incurring any transaction fees: FTX Pro, FTX App or Bitfinex.
FTX App and FTX Pro do not charge any withdrawal fees for MATIC withdrawals via the Polygon network
Both the FTX App and FTX Pro offer free withdrawals when you are withdrawing MATIC from the Polygon network.
These 2 platforms are actually separate from each other, just like the Crypto.com App and Exchange.
If you are withdrawing MATIC from FTX Pro, you are charged an extremely small amount of MATIC as the withdrawal fee.
To take advantage of this fee, you will have to use the Polygon (MATIC) network, and not the Ethereum ERC20 network. This is because the ERC20 fees are higher.
You can view my guide on how to transfer MATIC from FTX to Metamask to find out more about the process.
The same applies to FTX App, which does not charge any fees even for ERC20 withdrawals!
However, one of the issues with the FTX App is that the spreads can be rather high, which is similar to the Crypto.com App.
Bitfinex is another platform that offers free withdrawals for MATIC via the Polygon (MATIC) network.
However, if you use the ERC20 network to withdraw MATIC, you will need to pay a small fee for the withdrawal.
Gemini allows free withdrawals of MATIC via the ERC20 network
If you are looking to send MATIC via the ERC20 network, the best way to do so will be via Gemini.
This is because Gemini allows you to make 10 cryptocurrency withdrawals for free each month.
Once you have exceeded the 10 free withdrawals, the fee that you’ll need to pay is 1 MATIC, which is still cheaper than most platforms!
I would recommend using the Gemini Active Trader platform to buy cryptocurrencies, as the fees are much lower (up to 0.35%) compared to buying them on the Gemini Exchange.
Moreover, you can purchase MATIC using USD on the platform.
After purchasing MATIC, you can withdraw it to your Metamask wallet at no fees.
You can’t purchase MATIC on the Polygon Mainnet directly on Metamask
If you wish to buy MATIC on Metamask, it is not possible to do so on the Polygon Mainnet.
This is because you are only able to buy MATIC on the Ethereum Mainnet.
If you are looking to send MATIC to your Metamask wallet, the 3 best ways to do so would be either via Bitfinex, FTX App or FTX Pro.
Although the fees for the other platforms are rather low too, it will still be advantageous to withdraw them using these 3 platforms that offer free withdrawals.
If you are looking to send MATIC via the ERC20 network, the best way to do so would be via Gemini or the FTX App. Both of these platforms do not charge any fees, even for ERC20 withdrawals!
After adding and receiving your tokens to your Metamask wallet, you can consider using decentralised exchange (DEX) aggregators, including:
Since both platforms are DeFi aggregators, they will ensure that you will get the best rates for any swaps that you make!
