Using your iPhone or Apple Watch as your EZ-link card can make things really convenient for you.

The best part is that you don’t need to take out your actual card from your wallet!

But how do you go about doing this? Here’s what you need to know.

To use Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch, you will need to have a model that is compatible:

Once you’ve added your card to Apple Pay, you can start using your card to make payments at the MRT or bus gantries.

When you are on the lock screen of your phone, you can double tap the side button or the Home button. This depends on which iPhone model you are using.

This will bring you to the Apple Pay page, where you can select the card that you want to use.

Does Singapore support Express Transit?

Singapore currently does not support Apple Pay with Express Transit. However, you still can use Apple Pay to pay for your bus or MRT rides, by authenticating the purchase with either Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.

The Express Transit mode is available in countries like China, Hong Kong or Japan. In these countries, you are able to pay your public transport fare without needing to authenticate the purchase.

However, SimplyGo in Singapore does not support this Express Transit mode. You will need to authenticate the purchase before it goes through.

This may be slightly more troublesome. However, you’re still able to use your iPhone or Apple Watch to pay for your MRT and bus rides!

You are currently unable to add your EZ-Link card to your Apple Wallet. As such, you will not be able to use your EZ-Link card on Apple Pay to pay for your public transport fares.

If you want to add a card to your Apple Wallet, here are the few options that you can add:
