I Waited 144 Days To Claim My SingSaver Reward

When you sign up for a credit card with SingSaver, they will usually offer rather attractive rewards provided you meet certain criteria.

However, how long does it take before the rewards are distributed to you?

I recently applied for a credit card and here’s my experience of claiming my rewards from them:

How to redeem your SingSaver reward

Here’s a step by step guide on how you can redeem your SingSaver reward:

1. Enter your email address on SingSaver’s website
2. Apply for the financial product (e.g. credit card, loans, insurance plan)
3. Take note of your Application Reference Number
4. Create an account or log into your existing SingSaver account
5. Fill up a form to select your reward
6. Receive your reward

For this example, I would be showing you how I redeemed the SingSaver reward for the Amex True Cashback Card.

Enter your email address on SingSaver’s website

After clicking on any link from SingSaver to sign up for a credit card,

you will be asked to enter your email address.

Apply for the financial product (e.g. credit card, loans, insurance plan)

You will be redirected to the official website of the credit card,

and you can sign up for the credit card on the website.

Take note of your Application Reference Number

After applying for the credit card, you should receive a reference number from the company.

This reference number is important, as SingSaver will use it to track your reward.

The way that the number is presented will differ from company to company. SingSaver has a full list of the different types of application number formats, based on the provider you are signing up with for the card.

In this case, my application number was “YYYYxxxxxxxxxxSGD” (YYYY represents the current year), which is the standard format for Amex cards.

Do take note of this application number and copy it down if possible!

Create an account or log into your existing SingSaver account

SingSaver will send you a link by email, asking you to create an account with them.

If you already have an account with SingSaver, you can log into your existing account.

Fill up a form to select your reward

In your account, you will be required to fill up a form, which includes:

• Entering your application number
• Selecting the reward that you wish to receive

You should receive an email that confirms your application, and it’ll look something like this:

Don’t forget to meet the requirements to receive your reward!

Receive your reward

Even after you have met the requirements to receive your SingSaver reward, you may not receive any news from SingSaver.

I did not receive any update from SingSaver until about 144 days after my application.

After a while, I finally received an email that provided me with a redemption code for an Ergotune Classic chair.

I applied for the reward on 22nd October 2021, and only received the email on 15th March 2022.

Why have I not received an email from SingSaver yet?

SingSaver states their entire process of redeeming a reward from them.

Usually, the stage which causes the delay is when SingSaver has to match the applications with their partners to see if you had fulfilled the requirements to redeem your reward.

Even though they mention that the process takes around 90-120 days, I only received my redemption details after 144 days.

If you still have not received your reward, you may want to contact SingSaver at info@singsaver.com.sg, with the following details:

• Product applied for
• Email used for product application
• Application Reference Number
• Date Applied for product

Can SingSaver be trusted?

Despite SingSaver’s delay in processing my reward, I was still able to claim the coupon code that was distributed to me. I would believe that SingSaver is rather reliable, just that it may take quite a while to process your reward.

Conclusion

The process to redeem a reward with SingSaver may be slightly complicated, especially if you’re doing it for the first time.

Here are some things to note:

• Note down your application number from SingSaver’s partner
• Complete the Rewards Redemption Form sent by SingSaver (separate from the application form for the corresponding product)
• Ensure that you meet the requirements to receive the reward
• The reward redemption email may take longer than 120 days, and you may want to contact SingSaver to enquire about the status
