4 Steps To Send ADA To Your Trust Wallet

Send ADA To Trust Wallet

Last updated on April 26th, 2022

If you own some ADA, you may be looking to send it to your Trust Wallet.

However, the process is actually quite complicated as you can only send Binance-Peg ADA and not native ADA to Trust Wallet.

Here’s what you need to know:

Does Trust Wallet support Cardano (ADA)?

Trust Wallet only supports Binance-Peg ADA, which is the BEP2 or BEP20 version of ADA. Currently, Trust Wallet does not support native ADA that is on the Cardano blockchain.

How to send ADA to Trust Wallet

Here are 4 steps to send ADA to Trust Wallet:

  1. Select a platform that enables ADA withdrawals via the BNB Chain (BEP20)
  2. Obtain the ADA (BEP20) deposit address from Trust Wallet
  3. Withdraw from the platform of your choice using the BNB Chain
  4. Receive Binance-Peg ADA in your Trust Wallet

And here is each step explained in-depth:

Select a platform that enables ADA withdrawals via the BNB Chain (BEP20)

Since you are only able to send ADA via the BNB Chain (BEP20), you will need to buy ADA on an exchange that supports such withdrawals.

Currently, there are only 2 platforms that support Binance-Peg ADA withdrawals:

PlatformADA Withdrawal
Fee (BEP20)
Binance0.21 ADA
Crypto.com0.5 ADA

If you wish to send ADA via the Binance Chain, only Binance allows you to perform a withdrawal over this network.

Obtain the ADA (BEP20) deposit address from Trust Wallet

The next step you’ll need to do is to obtain the Binance-Peg ADA deposit address on your Trust Wallet.

You will need to go to the ‘Receive‘ button on your homepage,

Trust Wallet Receive

and then search for Cardano.

Trust Wallet Search For Cardano

You will notice that there is only Binance-Peg Cardano, and not native Cardano.

This will show you the deposit address for the BNB Chain (BEP20),

Trust Wallet BEP20 ADA

or the address for Binance Chain (BEP2).

Trust Wallet ADA BEP2

The address for BNB Chain (BEP20) will be similar to your ERC20 address, as they both start with ‘0x‘.

Meanwhile, your BEP2 address will start with ‘bnb‘.

Withdraw from the platform of your choice using the BNB Chain

The next step will be to withdraw ADA using the BNB Chain network. For both Binance and Crypto.com, you will be able to withdraw ADA using both the native Cardano network and the BNB Chain.

As such, you will need to choose the correct network when you are withdrawing ADA to your Trust Wallet address.

If you choose to wrong network, there is a chance that your funds may be lost forever!

Receive Binance-Peg ADA in your Trust Wallet

For the last step, you will receive Binance-Peg ADA in your Trust Wallet.

The speed of the transaction depends on how congested the BNB chain is.

How do I transfer ADA from Binance to Trust Wallet?

To transfer ADA from Binance to Trust Wallet, you will need to obtain the BEP2 or BEP20 address from Trust Wallet and use either network to transfer ADA. You will not be able to send ADA via the native Cardano blockchain to Trust Wallet.

The good thing about Binance is that it will automatically match the network with the deposit address that you paste.

If you paste an ‘0x‘ address, Binance will detect it as a BEP20 address,

while pasting a ‘bnb‘ address will result in the BEP2 network being matched.

This will reduce any errors when transferring ADA from Binance to Trust Wallet!

Can I transfer ADA from Coinbase to Trust Wallet?

You are unable to transfer ADA directly from Coinbase to Trust Wallet, as Coinbase only supports native ADA withdrawals, while Trust Wallet only supports Binance-Peg ADA.

Coinbase only allows you to withdraw ADA via the Cardano blockchain, and not via the BNB Chain.

Can I transfer ADA from Kraken to Trust Wallet?

You are unable to transfer ADA directly from Kraken to Trust Wallet, as Kraken only supports native ADA withdrawals, while Trust Wallet only supports Binance-Peg ADA.

Kraken only supports native ADA withdrawals to addresses that start with ‘4’, ‘A’ or ‘D’. You won’t be able to send ADA to Trust Wallet as the deposit address either starts with ‘0x’ or ‘bnb’.

Conclusion

Trust Wallet only supports Binance-Peg ADA, and not native ADA.

This is similar to Metamask, but different from other platforms like Nexo, Celsius and Nami Wallet.

As such, you will need to use either the BEP20 or BEP2 networks to send ADA to Trust Wallet!
