Juno is a blockchain that is built with the Cosmos SDK, which makes it interoperable with other networks that are built with the Cosmos SDK.
If you’re looking to buy the JUNO token, you are currently only able to do so via the Osmosis platform with your Keplr Wallet, and here’s a guide to help you get started:
How to buy the JUNO token on Osmosis
Here are 5 steps you’ll need to buy the JUNO token on Osmosis:
- Buy an IBC-enabled cryptocurrency on an exchange
- Send the IBC-enabled cryptocurrency to your Keplr Wallet
- Connect your Keplr Wallet with Osmosis
- Deposit your IBC-enabled cryptocurrency into Osmosis
- Trade your IBC-enabled cryptocurrency for JUNO
And here is each step explained further:
Buy an IBC-enabled cryptocurrency on an exchange
JUNO is only listed on the Osmosis platform, so you can’t buy it on other centralised exchanges such as FTX or KuCoin.
To buy the JUNO token, you will need to deposit an IBC-enabled cryptocurrency and swap it for OSMO.
Some of these IBC-enabled cryptocurrencies include:
You are able to buy them on many exchanges, such as Binance, Crypto.com or FTX.
Send the IBC-enabled cryptocurrency to your Keplr Wallet
The next step will be to send the IBC-enabled cryptocurrency that you have chosen to your Keplr Wallet.
You can view these guides to see find out more information on sending these cryptocurrencies to Keplr:
If you intend to send LUNA or UST to your Keplr Wallet, you will need to add the Terra network to your Keplr Wallet first.
Connect your Keplr Wallet with Osmosis
For the next step, you will need to connect your Keplr Wallet to the Osmosis platform.

Deposit your IBC-enabled cryptocurrency into Osmosis
After that, you can go to the ‘Assets‘ tab on Osmosis,

and select ‘Deposit‘ on the IBC cryptocurrency that you have transferred to Osmosis.

You will need to transfer your tokens from your Keplr Wallet on their native chain to the Osmosis chain (osmo).
To do so, you will need to pay a small transaction fee in the token that you’re transferring.
As such, try not to send your entire balance over from Keplr to Osmosis!
For example, if you want to deposit ATOM to Osmosis, you will transfer your tokens from the ‘cosmos’ chain to the ‘osmo’ chain.

Don’t forget to leave a small amount of ATOM behind to process this transfer!
Trade your IBC-enabled cryptocurrency for JUNO
Once you have deposited your assets to Osmosis, you are now able to trade them for JUNO.
You will need to go to the ‘Trade‘ tab,

and you will be able to swap your IBC-enabled cryptocurrency for JUNO.

This is similar to other platforms such as Pancakeswap or Uniswap.
If you do not have any ATOM, you will be able to select other cryptocurrencies from the dropdown menu, including LUNA, UST or CRO.

After confirming the transaction, you will now have bought the JUNO token!
How to stake JUNO on Keplr Wallet
Here are the steps you’ll need to stake JUNO on your Keplr Wallet:
- Go to your Keplr Wallet and select ‘Stake’ under the JUNO network
- Select a delegator to stake your JUNO tokens with
- Confirm the transaction
Go to your Keplr Wallet and select ‘Stake’ under the JUNO network
After selecting the JUNO network on your Keplr Wallet wallet,

you can select ‘Stake‘ on the wallet itself.

Select a delegator to stake your JUNO tokens with
On the staking page, you will be able to select a delegator to stake your JUNO tokens with.

The top delegators that you see are sorted based on ‘Voting Power‘. This refers to the amount of JUNO tokens that are staked with them.
The more JUNO tokens staked, the higher the voting power of the delegator.
Another factor that you may want to consider is the commissions that the delegators will take from your staking rewards.
However, the commissions are relatively quite stable among the top delegators.
Confirm the transaction
After you have selected the delegator to stake your JUNO tokens with, you can select the amount of JUNO to stake with the delegator,

and confirm the transaction.

You will then be able to view the amount of JUNO that you have staked with the delegator, as well as the pending rewards.

One good tip will be to spread out your JUNO tokens amongst different delegators. This will ensure that in the event that a delegator gets slashed, your remaining JUNO tokens will not be affected.
Conclusion
Since JUNO is not currently listed on most centralised exchanges, you are only able to buy it on the Osmosis platform itself.
This is similar to how you would buy OSMO and SCRT on Osmosis too.
To do so, you will need to first buy an IBC-enabled cryptocurrency, send it to Osmosis via Keplr, and then swap it for JUNO.
If you’re looking to generate tax reports for your crypto trades, you can consider using Koinly, which allows you to track your transactions from 350+ exchanges and 50+ crypto wallets.
