MetisDAO (METIS) is a scalable protocol that supports a wide range of use cases, including yield farming, DEX trading, and powering the gig economy via dApps that offer you cheap and fast micropayments.
If you’re looking to transfer MetisDAO (METIS) tokens to your Metamask wallet, you will need to import METIS as a custom token.
Here’s what you need to know about adding both the Andromeda network and the METIS token to your Metamask wallet.

How to add the Andromeda network to Metamask
To add the Andromeda network to your Metamask wallet, you can go to the Netswap homepage and connect your Metamask wallet with the platform. You will be prompted to add the Andromeda network to your Metamask wallet from there.
Netswap is the first decentralised exchange (DEX) to be launched on the Andromeda network.
As such, you can add the Andromeda network directly to your Metamask wallet by interacting with this platform.
To do so, you can go to the Netswap platform,

and then select Metamask under ‘Connect Wallet‘.

Netswap will detect that you did not switch to the Andromeda network on your Metamask wallet, and will ask you to do so.

Once you have clicked on ‘Connect to Andromeda‘, you will be prompted by Metamask to add the Andromeda network to your wallet.

After confirming this, you will be able to view the Andromeda network on Metamask, with METIS as the native token.

How to add the METIS token to Metamask on the Ethereum Network
Here are 4 steps to add METIS to Metamask on the Ethereum Network:
- Go to Metamask and ensure that you are using the Ethereum Network
- Select ‘Import Tokens’, and then ‘Import Custom Token’
- Copy the Ethereum contract from CoinMarketCap
- Double-check that METIS is detected and select ‘Add Custom Token’
And here is each step explained:
Go to Metamask and ensure that you are using the Ethereum Mainnet
The first thing you’ll need to do is to ensure that you are using the Ethereum Mainnet on Metamask.

This is the default network for all Metamask wallets.
Select ‘Import Tokens’, and then ‘Import Custom Token’
Once you’re on the Ethereum Mainnet, the next step will be to select ‘Import Tokens‘.

If you try to search for METIS using the Search function, you aren’t able to import it using this method.

Instead, you will need to go to the ‘Custom Token‘ section.
Copy the Ethereum contract from CoinMarketCap
For the next part, you can go to the METIS page on CoinMarketCap.
There is a section called ‘Contracts‘, where you’ll see the Ethereum contract for METIS.
You can click on the contract and it will be copied to your clipboard.
Double-check that METIS is detected and select ‘Add Custom Token’
Once you’ve copied the Contract Address, you can paste it in the ‘Token Contract Address‘ field in Metamask.
If you pasted the correct contract address, METIS should automatically appear as the Token Symbol.
After selecting ‘Add Custom Token‘, you will need to confirm importing METIS one more time.
Once you’ve successfully imported METIS to your Metamask wallet, you should see it as one of your assets under the Ethereum Mainnet.
This will allow you to view any METIS that you’ve deposited via the ERC20 network!
The same process can be done for adding the METIS token to the Binance Smart Chain
You are able to use the same process to add the METIS token to the Binance Smart Chain.
First, you’ll need to ensure that you are on the Binance Smart Chain on your Metamask wallet.
If you have not set up the Binance Smart Chain on your Metamask wallet, you can check out this step-by-step guide here.
Once you’ve copied the Binance Smart Chain contract from CoinMarketCap by clicking on ‘More’,
you can paste it in the ‘Token Contract Address‘ field in Metamask.
Conclusion
METIS can be added to your Metamask wallet either via the Ethereum network or the BNB Chain.
You are also able to add the Andromeda network to your Metamask wallet via Netswap, which is the first DEX on this network.
After adding and receiving your tokens to your Metamask wallet, you can consider using decentralised exchange (DEX) aggregators, including:
Since both platforms are DeFi aggregators, they will ensure that you will get the best rates for any swaps that you make!
