KrisPay Miles Vs KrisFlyer Miles – What’s The Difference?

You’ve most likely heard of KrisFlyer miles, which can help you to offset either your airplane tickets or your hotel bookings.

However, with the introduction of the Kris+ app, a different type of miles have been introduced: KrisPay miles.

How are these 2 different, and how can you convert between them?

The difference between KrisPay miles and KrisFlyer miles

KrisFlyer miles can be redeemed for a wide variety of rewards, including airplane tickets, hotel stays, and conversion between other rewards programmes. Meanwhile, KrisPay miles can either be used to offset purchases at merchants that accept payment with the Kris+ app, or these miles can be converted to KrisFlyer miles at a 1:1 ratio.

There are much more use cases for KrisFlyer miles, such as:

• Redeeming airplane tickets
• Offset purchases at KrisShop.com
• Conversion to other rewards programmes (Fliggy, Velocity Points, Esso Smiles Points, CapitaStar)

If you’re interested in travel hacking, you may want to redeem your KrisFlyer miles to purchase airplane tickets without any money paid upfront!

However, there are fewer uses for KrisPay miles. You can use these miles to offset any purchases that you make at a Kris+ partner merchant.

Another way that you can use KrisPay miles would be to convert it to KrisFlyer miles. This has to be done within 7 days of earning these points, if not they will remain as KrisPay miles!

One of the advantages of Kris+ is that you can use Apple Pay or Google Pay to make your purchase, which means that you can earn credit card rewards and KrisPay miles at the same time.

How to convert KrisPay miles to KrisFlyer miles

Here’s how you can convert your KrisPay miles to Krisflyer miles:

The first step will be to go to the ‘Wallet‘ tab on the Kris+ app,

and then select ‘Miles History‘.

You will be able to see all of the KrisPay miles that you’ve earned from the transactions that you’ve made.

After that, you can select any of these transactions, which will bring you to the transaction page.

You can tap on the ‘Transfer to KrisFlyer‘ button which will transfer the miles to your KrisFlyer account.

Your KrisPay miles will be converted to KrisFlyer miles in a 1:1 ratio.

You may want to note that you are only able to transfer the full amount of miles from that transaction to your KrisFlyer account. You can’t transfer a portion of the miles, and keep the remainder in your Kris+ app!

How to convert KrisFlyer miles to KrisPay miles

If you would like to do the reverse and convert your KrisFlyer miles to KrisPay miles, here’s how you can do so:

The first step will be to go to the ‘Wallet‘ tab on the Kris+ app,

and then select ‘Transfer‘.

You will be given a few options to transfer from different rewards programmes to KrisPay, including:

• CapitaStar
• Citi ThankYou Rewards
• DBS Rewards
• UOB Rewards

After selecting KrisFlyer, you will be able to enter the number of KrisFlyer miles that you wish to be converted to KrisPay miles.

Your KrisFlyer miles will be converted to KrisPay miles in a 1:1 ratio.

The KrisFlyer miles come from the same account that you used to log into the Kris+ app.
