If you own some NEAR, you may be looking to send it to your Near Wallet.
However, there is only a version of NEAR that NEAR wallet supports (Native NEAR).
Here’s a guide on how you can do so:
How to send NEAR to NEAR Wallet
Here are 3 steps to send NEAR to your NEAR Wallet:
- Select a platform that enables NEAR withdrawals via the Native NEAR network
- Obtain the NEAR deposit address from NEAR Wallet
- Send NEAR from the platform of your choice to NEAR Wallet
Here is each step explained further:
Select a platform that enables NEAR withdrawals via the native NEAR network
The first step you’ll need is to find a platform that supports NEAR, and you are able to send NEAR to NEAR Wallet via the native NEAR network.
Here are 5 platforms for your consideration:
Platform | Native NEAR |
---|---|
Binance | 0.01 NEAR |
Crypto.com | 0.1 NEAR |
FTX | 0 NEAR |
Gate.io | 0.1 NEAR |
AAX | 0.45 NEAR |
You may notice that FTX charges the cheapest fees for Native NEAR withdrawals.
Obtain the NEAR deposit address from NEAR Wallet
When you are on the homepage of your NEAR Wallet, you will need to tap on ‘Receive’.
You are only able to deposit NEAR to your NEAR wallet via its native chain (NEAR).
There are 2 different types of addresses via which NEAR can be deposited to your NEAR wallet.
If you intend to deposit NEAR via the address with a unique ID,
this is what your address will look like.
However, If you intend to deposit NEAR via the address with a normal string of words,
your address will be a different number and letters.
Send NEAR from the platform of your choice to NEAR Wallet
After you have copied the deposit address from NEAR Wallet, the last step would be to send NEAR from the platform that you’ve selected previously.
In this example, I will be using Binance to send NEAR.
If you are sending NEAR using the address with a standard address,
this is how your address will appear and you can choose to send it out.
However, if you are sending NEAR using the address with a unique ID,
your address will end with ‘.near’.
After pasting the address, Binance automatically determines the type of network that will be used (NEAR).
You may want to note that these addresses are both Native NEAR withdrawal addresses via which your NEAR tokens can be deposited.
Once you have confirmed the transaction, you will be able to receive NEAR in your NEAR Wallet.
Conclusion
When you are sending NEAR to NEAR Wallet, you are able to send it via its native chain (NEAR).
