You may be looking to bridge some LUNA that you have on your Terra Station wallet to the Harmony ONE chain.
The Terra Bridge may seem slightly confusing, and here’s a guide to help you along the way.
How to bridge LUNA from the Terra network to the Harmony ONE chain
Here are 3 steps to bridge LUNA from Terra to the Harmony network:
- Connect your Terra Station wallet to the Terra Bridge
- Obtain the deposit address from a non-custodial wallet that supports the Harmony ONE chain
- Confirm the transaction details and process the transfer
Here is each step explained further:
Connect your Terra Station wallet to the Terra Bridge
When you are on the Terra Bridge, you will need to select ‘LUNA‘ as the asset, and ‘Terra‘ as the network.
You will need to select the ‘Connect Wallet‘ button, and select the Terra Station wallet browser extension.
This will connect your Terra Station wallet to the Terra Bridge.
Obtain the deposit address from a non-custodial wallet that supports the Harmony ONE chain
Once you have connected your Terra Station wallet, the next step will be to obtain the deposit address from a wallet that supports the Harmony ONE chain.
Since the Harmony ONE chain is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible network, you are able to add it to non-custodial wallets like your Metamask wallet.
If you are using a Metamask wallet, you can copy the address which starts with ‘0x‘ from your wallet.
In other instances, you will need to convert your ‘0x’ address to a Harmony ONE address (starting with ‘one’). However, the Harmony documentation requires you to add the ‘0x’ address instead.
If you paste the ‘one‘ address that you’ve obtained from the Harmony block explorer as the destination address, it will be shown to be an invalid address.
As such, you will just need to paste the ‘0x‘ deposit address that you’ve obtained from your Metamask wallet.
Confirm the transaction details and process the transfer
After selecting the amount of LUNA that you wish to bridge to the Harmony ONE chain, you can view the fees that you’ll need to pay for this bridging transaction.
There are 3 types of fees that you’ll need to pay:
- Tax
- Gas Fee
- Shuttle Fee
For the gas fee, you can choose to pay it with another currency, such as UST or KRT. These can be claimed from the rewards that you receive from staking LUNA.
After pressing next, you will be asked to confirm the transaction one more time.
You will then be asked to validate the transfer on your Terra Station wallet.
Once this is done, you should receive LUNA under the Harmony network on your Metamask wallet.
Conclusion
If you wish to send LUNA to the Harmony ONE network, you will need to use the Terra Bridge to bridge native LUNA to LUNA on the Harmony ONE network.
When you are applying the destination address to the Terra Bridge, you should use the address starting with ‘0x’, and not the one that starts with ‘one’!
