You may have heard that you could receive ‘free’ Spotify and Netflix if you use the Crypto.com Visa Card to pay for the subscription.
However, the rebates you receive are not in cash. Instead, it is in the form of CRO tokens!
Here’s what you need to know about this rebate:

How to get ‘free’ Spotify and Netflix with Crypto.com
These are the 5 steps you’ll need to receive ‘free’ Spotify and Netflix with Crypto.com:
- Sign up for a Ruby Steel (for Spotify) or a Royal Indigo / Jade Green (for Netflix) Visa Card
- Top up your Crypto.com Visa Card
- Enable International Usage for your Crypto.com Visa Card
- Save your Crypto.com Visa Card on Spotify or Netflix
- Receive your cashback in the form of CRO
Here is each step explained in-depth:
#1 Sign up for a Ruby Steel (for Spotify) or a Royal Indigo / Jade Green (for Netflix) Visa Card
To be eligible for the cashback, you’ll need to sign up for at least a Ruby Steel Crypto.com Visa Card.
The Ruby Steel card will only allow you to receive rebates from Spotify. If you want to receive rebates from Netflix, you’ll need to sign up for a Royal Indigo or Jade Green card.
To get any of these cards, you’ll need to stake a certain amount of CRO on the Crypto.com app.
This depends on the type of card you want to sign up for, and the amount of currency that you are staking in.
If you just want to get the Spotify rebate in Singapore, you’ll need to stake SGD $500 worth of CRO in the Crypto.com app .
After you stake a certain amount of CRO on the Crypto.com app, you should receive your Crypto.com Visa Card via mail.
#2 Top up your Crypto.com Visa Card
After receiving your Crypto.com Visa Card, you will need to top up your card. This will allow you to make daily transactions with your Visa Card.
The way that you can top up your Crypto.com Visa Card depends on the country you’re in.
I’m from Singapore, and I can top up my Visa Card via 2 ways:
- Crypto Wallet
- Credit Card
The Crypto.com Visa Card is a stored value debit card. This means that you’ll need to top up your card first before making a transaction!
#3 Enable International Usage for your Crypto.com Visa Card
After you have topped up your card, you may want to check that your card allows you to make international payments.
You can do this by going to the ‘Card‘ tab, and then tapping on the card icon on the top right hand corner.
Once you have reached the menu, you’ll need to ensure that the ‘Enable International Usage‘ option is switched on.
This allows you to make international payments, so that your Spotify and Netflix transactions can go through.
#4 Save your Crypto.com Visa Card on Spotify or Netflix
When you are making the payment for your Spotify or Netflix subscription, you will be asked to enter your card details.
You will need to enter the details of your Crypto.com Visa Card to make the monthly payments from that card.
#5 Receive your cashback in the form of CRO
When you make a payment to either Spotify or Netflix, Crypto.com will credit the cashback to your card in the form of CRO.
You will not be receiving your Spotify rebate in the form of cash. Instead, you will be receiving it in CRO, which is Crypto.com’s native token.
The amount of CRO that you receive depends on the current exchange rate between your fiat currency and CRO.
The picture above shows the amount of CRO I received (93.79) that is equivalent to around $14.52 SGD (the amount I paid for my Spotify subscription).
How does the Spotify reimbursement work for Crypto.com?
You are required to make the payment for your Spotify subscription with your Crypto.com Visa Card. You will receive the rebate (up to USD $12.99 per month) into your Crypto.com app in the form of CRO tokens.
You may want to take note that you will only receive up to USD $12.99 per month in Spotify rebates. If you subscribe to a more expensive plan, you may not be able to receive a full rebate!
Can I get obtain the reimbursement if I sign up for a Spotify Duo plan?
You are able to receive the reimbursement for a Spotify plan (including Spotify Duo) of up to USD $12.99 a month. For any balance that is above USD $12.99, it will be deducted from your card balance, and you will receive the spending rebate in CRO.
The limit for the Spotify reimbursement is USD $12.99, which is the same price as a Spotify Duo plan.
However, you may be taxed on this purchase, so the amount that you pay may be more than USD $12.99.
In this case, you will still receive the full reimbursement for USD $12.99 in CRO. For any balance that is above USD $12.99, you will receive the CRO rebate depending on your card tier.
Am I able to get free Netflix with Crypto.com?
You will be able to receive rebates for your Netflix subscription if you sign up for at least a Royal Indigo or Jade Green Visa Card. The rebate that you receive (up to USD $13.99 per month) will be credited into your Crypto.com app in the form of CRO tokens.
If you want to receive the Netflix rebate, you’ll need to stake enough CRO to sign up for the Royal Indigo or Jade Green Visa Card.
The amount of CRO that you need to stake is much higher compared to the amount required for a Ruby Steel card.
Why can Crypto.com afford to give these benefits?
Since you are receiving the rebate in the form of CRO tokens, Crypto.com is not necessarily ‘giving you cash’.
You can choose the option to cash it out for a fiat currency. However, there are many other uses for the CRO token as well.
Furthermore, Crypto.com uses the staking mechanism to attract you to ‘lock up’ a certain amount of CRO tokens, which means you can’t sell them away. Ultimately, this helps to stabilise the price of each CRO token.
However, one thing you may want to note is that Crypto.com does not have a partnership with any of these platforms.
They may choose to change the offer at any time, and you may not be able to receive a full rebate in the future!
What can I do with my Spotify and Netflix rebates?
You do not receive the Spotify and Netflix rebates in cash, but in CRO tokens. So what can you do with these tokens?
Here are some suggestions for you:
#1 Sell your CRO tokens for a fiat currency
If you would like to cash out your rebates immediately to cash, you can sell your CRO tokens for a fiat currency.
I am from Singapore, so I can sell CRO to my Xfers wallet. However, I will incur a 0.4% withdrawal fee for this transaction.
If you’re from another country, you are able to use different processes to sell your CRO to these fiat currencies:
#2 Trade your CRO tokens for another cryptocurrency
You can trade your CRO tokens to another cryptocurrency on Crypto.com’s app.
The app allows you to trade a huge variety of tokens.
You can use your CRO tokens to buy most of the currencies on the app, including SHIB or DGB.
Crypto.com does not charge you any fees when you make any of these trades.
However, you are buying at Crypto.com’s prevailing exchange rate between these currencies. It may be higher or lower compared to the actual market rate.
#3 Send your CRO tokens to trade on the Crypto.com Exchange
If you do not like the Instant Buy option, you can choose to trade on Crypto.com’s Exchange platform instead.
You will be charged up to 0.4% for each trade that you make on the platform.
#3 Stake your CRO tokens with Crypto.com Earn
If you have accumulated 5000 CRO, you can stake this CRO with Crypto.com Earn to receive up to 6% of interest.
However, your CRO will need to be locked up for 3 months if you want to receive the highest amount of returns!
#4 Deposit CRO tokens into Supercharger
If you would like to mine DeFi tokens, you can deposit your CRO into the Supercharger pool.
Crypto.com’s Supercharger allows you to earn rewards in the form of the selected DeFi token for that reward period.

Crypto.com offers a very attractive rebate for your Spotify and Netflix subscriptions. However, the rebate is in the form of CRO and not actual cash!
If you want to cash out your rebate, you’ll need to sell CRO for a fiat currency.
Otherwise, you can use these CRO tokens for other purposes, such as:
- Trading for another currency
- Staking with Crypto.com Earn
- Depositing into the Supercharger pool
You could choose to hold onto these tokens too, if you see a potential in Crypto.com’s ecosystem!
